Ahead of official launch, Tata Harrier Dark edition's prices leaked
Taking on MG Hector and Kia Seltos in the compact SUV segment, Tata Motors is working to launch an all-black Dark edition of Harrier sometime next month. The upcoming model will come with 'Atlas Black' paint scheme and is expected to be priced at around Rs. 16.87 lakh. Here's all you need to know about it.
Tata Harrier Dark edition: At a glance
The Tata Harrier Dark edition will feature a sporty look with 'Atlas Black' paint job and 17-inch 'Blackstone' alloy wheels. The subcompact SUV will also get a blacked out treatment on front and rear bumpers, wheel arches, ORVMs, and skid plates. For lighting, it will house projector headlamps along with LED DRLs, fog lamps, and LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
The Tata Harrier Dark edition will feature a blacked-out cabin with grey inserts on the dashboard and Benecke-Kaliko 'Blackstone' leather upholstery. The cabin will sport an 8.8-inch infotainment panel with connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay- same as XZ Dual Tone variant. Moreover, just like XZ Dual Tone model, it will also get upto six airbags, rearview camera, and automatic climate control.
Power and performance
Reportedly, the Tata Harrier Dark edition will retain the mechanical specifications of the Harrier XZ Dual Tone. Hence, it will be powered by a 2-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine which is capable of producing 138bhp of power and 350Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and promises an ARAI-certified mileage of 17kmpl.
And, what will be the pricing?
Going by the leaks, the Tata Harrier Dark edition is expected to arrive at a price of around Rs. 16.87 lakh- same as the XZ Dual Tone model. However, official details will be revealed during the launch event itself. Once launched, it will take on the likes of compact SUVs like MG Hector, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta.
