Tata Motors' AVINYA concept previews electric car coming in 2025
Tata Motors has pulled the wraps off its second EV concept dubbed 'AVINYA.' The production-ready version will be up for grabs in India in 2025. The SUV is based on the company's 'Pure EV Gen 3' architecture and has the versatility of an SUV with the spaciousness of an MPV. It comes from the automaker's recently set up EV division, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility.
Why does this story matter?
After unveiling the CURVV earlier this month, Tata is back with another EV concept - AVINYA. In Sanskrit, Avinya stands for innovation. Let's just say that the name is befitting. Although it is designed with India in mind, the automaker aims to make the EV a global sensation as well. With a premium exterior and a lush interior, it certainly takes one's breath away.
The car has cameras instead of ORVMs and spoiler-like taillamp
The Tata AVINYA has a futuristic design with a sloping roofline, black roof, long DRLs on both sides that culminates in the Tata logo, a body-colored bumper, and two black inserts that look like a grille. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, cameras that replace conventional ORVMs, 'suicide doors,' and large alloy wheels. A full-width LED taillight and chunky bumper grace the rear.
The EV offers a range of over 500km
The Tata AVINYA is powered by an electric powertrain whose details are currently unavailable. The production-ready version could come with dual or quad electric motors. The car promises a range of over 500km.
The SUV has integrated aroma diffuser and a soundbar
The Tata AVINYA has a spacious and minimalist dual-tone beige and brown-colored cabin, featuring a panoramic sunroof, bucket front seats, bench-style rear seats, an armrest with an integrated aroma diffuser, and a multifunctional, flat-bottom steering wheel. It houses a instrument console and a soundbar in the middle of the dashboard. The production-ready version of the car will have multiple airbags and ADAS.
Tata AVINYA: Availability
The Tata AVINYA is a concept car as of now. It is set to debut in India in production form in 2025. The company plans to make the car available globally as well.
