Tata Motors teases Altroz Racer in India, launch expected soon
Tata Motors has officially teased its upcoming performance hatchback, the Altroz Racer. The company announced that the new model will hit the Indian market in mid-June. Details about the powertrain and features of the Altroz Racer have already been revealed. The car is set to rival Hyundai i20 N Line and bookings are expected to begin shortly.
Altroz Racer's powertrain details
The standout feature of the Tata Altroz Racer is its powertrain options. The hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine will produce 118hp and 170Nm of peak torque, matching the performance of Hyundai i20 N Line's 1.0-liter turbo engine. The Altroz Racer was previously showcased at Auto Expo 2023 and Bharat Mobility Show 2024.
Altroz Racer boasts advanced features and sporty aesthetics
The Altroz Racer will come equipped with a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless smartphone connectivity, multiple drive modes, and a digital instrument cluster. The feature-list will also include a wireless charger, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, and an electrically adjustable sunroof. To distinguish it from the standard Altroz model, the Racer edition will sport a blacked-out hood, roof, and alloy wheels. The car's sporty aesthetic will be further enhanced by twin white stripes on the roof and hood.
