Unofficial bookings for Tata Altroz Racer open in India
Homegrown automaker Tata Motors is set to launch the sportier version of its Altroz model, the Altroz Racer, in the middle of this month. Despite the official booking process not yet being open, certain dealerships across India have begun accepting unofficial bookings. Prospective customers can secure their purchase with a booking amount of ₹21,000. Here, it might cost around ₹10 lakh.
What about performance?
The Tata Altroz Racer will be available in two variants, powered by a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This mill, a trimmed-down version of the one found in the Tata Nexon, can produce 118hp of peak power and 170Nm of maximum torque. The car will feature a six-speed manual gearbox, with an expected dual-clutch transmission (DCT) option for this performance-focused hatchback.
A look inside and out
The Altroz Racer will showcase unique styling elements such as sporty decals and alloy wheels with a new design. Anticipated are subtle yet significant exterior design tweaks. The interior will complement the sporty exterior, with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment panel offering wireless smartphone connectivity. Other features include a fully digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, cruise control, an electrically adjustable single-pane sunroof, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.
