Suzuki showcases V-Strom 800 DE at Japan Mobility Show 2023
At the Japan Mobility Show 2023, Suzuki revealed its latest adventure tourer, the V-Strom 800 DE. It has been spotted undergoing tests in India. The motorcycle boasts a vertically aligned LED headlamp, a clear windscreen, an additional mudguard, broad handlebars with handguards, and a stepped-up seat. To enhance its touring capabilities, the V-Strom 800 DE is also outfitted with a top case and mounts for side cases.
Engine specifications and features of V-Strom 800 DE
The heart of the Suzuki V-Strom 800 DE is a 776cc, parallel-twin engine that generates 83hp/78Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. The motor is nestled within a steel frame, featuring fully adjustable Showa inverted front forks and a rear mono-shock. Braking duties are managed by dual front discs and a single rear disc on 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels. It also gets LED lighting, a 5.0-inch TFT screen, traction control, ride-by-wire technology, a bi-directional quickshifter, and ABS.
Expected launch and rivals in India
Suzuki has been conducting tests of the V-Strom 800 DE in India, with an expected launch by the end of the year. Upon its arrival, the adventure tourer will take on the Triumph Tiger 900 and BMW F850 GS in the Indian market. The V-Strom 800 DE is estimated to carry a price tag of roughly Rs. 12 lakh (ex-showroom), presenting prospective buyers with an enticing new choice in the adventure touring category.
