Japanese Automaker Suzuki Motorcycle has launched the all-new Gixxer 250 in India. Priced at Rs. 1.59 lakh, the Gixxer 250 is Rs. 10,855 cheaper than its recently launched fully-faired sibling, the Gixxer SF 250. The new model shares its design with the naked Gixxer 155, while retaining the mechanical specifications of the Gixxer SF 250. Here's our roundup.
Let's take a look at the Gixxer 250
The Gixxer 250 sports a naked street look and shares most of its design components like fuel tank, alloy wheels and split seats with the Gixxer 155. However, to differentiate it from its younger sibling, the motorcycle gets a bronze treatment on headlight frame along with the side fairings and engine casing. It also sports a digital instrument console and an all-LED lighting setup.
Power and performance
The Suzuki Gixxer 250 draws power from a 249cc oil-cooled parallel-twin engine which churns out 26bhp of maximum power at 9,000rpm and 22.6Nm of peak torque at 7,500rpm. Further, the engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and promises a mileage of 38.5kmpl.
Suzuki Gixxer 250: On the road
On the safety front, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 comes equipped with disc brakes on both the front as well as rear wheels along with dual-channel ABS for better road handling. For suspension duties, the motorcycle houses telescopic forks on the front and a swingarm type monoshock suspension on the rear side.
Finally, what about pricing?
In India, the Suzuki Gixxer 250 costs Rs. 1.59 lakh which is Rs. 10,855 lesser than the fully-faired Gixxer SF 250. At this price point, the motorcycle goes up against rivals such as Yamaha FZ25, KTM 250 Duke, and Bajaj Pulsar 220F.
