Suzuki Burgman Electric found testing in India: What's new?
Japanese automaker Suzuki is tipped to launch its Burgman Electric scooter in India later this year. In the latest development, a test mule of the two-wheeler sans camouflage has been found testing on the roads, revealing important design details. The images suggest that it will have a single-piece seat, a digital instrument console, and alloy wheels, among other highlights.
Why does this story matter?
The Suzuki Burgman Electric will offer good looks, lots of features, and decent performance. It should attract a lot of buyers in India. The vehicle is expected to be priced competitively and will raise the competition in the electric two-wheeler segment. It will take on rivals such as the Ather 450X, Ola S1, and the Bajaj Chetak.
The scooter will flaunt a dual-tone shade
The Suzuki Burgman Electric will sport a headlight-mounted front apron, a flat footboard, a stepped-up single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, and a rear tire-hugging number plate holder. The scooter will pack a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument console with support for smartphone connectivity and an all-LED lighting setup. It will sport a dual-tone white and blue paintwork and shall ride on alloy wheels.
It will attain a top speed of around 65-70km/h
The Suzuki Burgman Electric should pack a 4-6kW electric motor linked to a 3-4kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. It might hit a top speed of around 65-70km/h and deliver a maximum range of roughly 75km per charge.
It will get telescopic front forks
To ensure the rider's safety, the Suzuki Burgman Electric will be equipped with a disc brake on the front wheel, a drum brake on the rear end, and a combined braking system for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the electric scooter will be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front end and twin shock absorbers on the rear side.
