Subaru teases two-door coupe with futuristic styling, side cameras
Subaru is gearing up to wow attendees at this year's Japan Mobility Show, with the debut of its eye-catching Sport Mobility Concept. This sleek two-door coupe will boast a futuristic design, squared wheel arches, and cameras replacing traditional side mirrors. The vehicle's badge will feature a Taurus constellation-inspired six-star cluster that lights up. There will also be illuminated C-shaped elements at the top of the windshield, that may be linked to driver assistance systems and self-driving tech.
Purely electric drivetrain and possible AWD
Although specific details are still under wraps, Subaru has revealed that the Sport Mobility Concept will run on an all-electric drivetrain. The automaker claims the concept will offer the "pleasure of going anywhere, anytime and driving at will in everyday to extraordinary environments." This statement could imply an all-wheel-drive system, hinting at a dual-motor setup. The concept will aim to showcase the evolution of Subaru's sport values.
Subaru's line-up at the Japan Mobility Show
Alongside the Sport Mobility Concept, Subaru will display the Solterra, Crosstrek, and two versions of the recently launched Layback at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center. One Layback model will be fully accessorized, and a special edition Forester will also make an appearance. The Japan Mobility Show is set to run from October 27 to November 5, with Subaru's press conference scheduled for October 25 during the first press day.
