Skoda Kodiaq Scout to launch in India on September 30
Skoda India is all set to launch the Kodiaq Scout SUV in India on September 30. Presently, the Kodiaq line-up comprises of Style and L&K variants. The upcoming Kodiaq Scout will arrive as a more off-road focused model. The new model gets a bunch of design and feature upgrades over existing variants. However, mechanically, it remains same as the other models. Here is more.
Skoda Kodiaq Scout: At a glance
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout sports a head-turning look featuring a tall and wide stance with 194mm ground clearance and 2,791mm wheelbase. The car comes with a cascading grille housed in a chrome-finished frame, sleek headlamps, silver-colored roof rails, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Further, the variant gets blacked-out claddings underneath front as well as rear bumpers and blacked-out wheel arches.
Inside the cabin
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout sports all-black interior unlike other variants, along with a sunroof and a multifunctional steering wheel. The SUV houses a 9.2-inch infotainment panel with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Further, it gets multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera as well as parking sensors, and a dedicated off-road driving mode. This mode is not available in other variants.
Power and performance
The Skoda Kodiaq Scout retains the mechanical specifications of the other Kodiaq models. Hence, it is powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine which is capable of producing 148bhp of power and 340Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, the SUV gets a seven-speed automatic gearbox which sends power to all wheels via 4WD (four-wheel drive) system.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the Skoda Kodiaq Scout is likely to arrive at a slightly higher price than the existing top-spec Kodiaq L&K variant which costs Rs. 36.78 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with rivals like Ford Endeavour and and Volkswagen Tiguan.
