Hyundai's seven-seater Creta could arrive in India by next year
Hyundai is working to launch a seven-seater variant of its popular compact SUV, the Creta, by the next year. A test mule of the upcoming car has been spotted in South Korea, revealing its key design highlights and hinting at an imminent launch. Reportedly, the bigger version of the Creta will share the mechanical specifications with its five-seater sibling. Here are more details.
Here's how it will look like
Going by the latest spy images, the seven-seater Creta will not only come with bigger dimensions but will also get a bunch of styling tweaks. The car will offer an updated front profile featuring a chrome-laden radiator grille, new bumpers, and a flat roofline. Besides that, it will feature an impressive side profile with silver-colored side-sill plates and comparatively bigger alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
The details about the interiors of the seven-seat variant of Creta are pretty scarce. However, quite like the standard five-seater model, it will also offer a luxurious cabin with hi-tech features. The car will house a touchscreen panel with BlueLink connected car technology. Furthermore, the full-sized SUV is expected to retain the standard safety elements of its five-seater sibling but with additional front-parking sensors.
Power and performance
The seven-seater Creta will retain the mechanical specifications of the five-seater model. Hence, it will be offered with 1.5-liter petrol and diesel engines, as well as a 1.4-liter turbo-petrol unit. The 1.5-liter petrol and diesel units churn out 115PS of power and 144Nm and 250Nm of peak torque, respectively. The 1.4-liter turbo-petrol mill, meanwhile, generates 140PS and 242Nm.
And, how much will it cost?
The pricing and availability details of the seven-seater Creta would be revealed at a later stage. However, going by the reports, the upcoming car would carry a premium of around Rs. 1 lakh over the five-seat version of Creta, which starts at Rs. 10 lakh.
