What's the story
Chennai-based Royal Enfield has finally launched its Scram 411 motorcycle in India. It is up for grabs in seven color options.
As for the highlights, the scrambler motorcycle sports a retro-inspired design and offers a semi-digital instrument cluster as well as spoked wheels.
It is powered by a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 24hp.
Context
Why does this story matter?
The Scram 411 has been introduced as the road-biased version of the Royal Enfield Himalayan ADV.
The motorbike shares its mechanicals with the Himalayan and is suitable for mild off-roading. However, it gets cosmetic changes to set itself apart.
It has been priced competitively and takes on rivals such as the Yezdi Scrambler, Honda CB350RS, and Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
Design
The motorbike has round mirrors and a single-piece seat
Royal Enfield Scram 411 has a sloping fuel tank with extensions, a single-piece seat, a pillion grab rail, an upswept exhaust, and circular mirrors.
The bike packs a fork clamp-mounted headlight, an LED taillamp, a semi-digital instrument console with support for Tripper Navigation, and rides on spoked wheels.
It is offered in seven shades, including White Flame, Graphite Blue, Blazing Black, and Skyline Blue.
Information
It runs on a 24hp, 411cc engine
Royal Enfield Scram 411 draws power from a 411cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine that generates a maximum power of 24hp and a peak torque of 32Nm. The motor is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Safety
It gets telescopic front forks
To ensure the rider's safety, the Royal Enfield Scram 411 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS for better handling on the roads.
Suspension duties on the scrambler bike are taken care of by 41mm telescopic forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear end.
