Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411's launch scheduled for March 7
Chennai-based Royal Enfield has announced that it will launch its Himalayan Scram 411 motorbike in India on March 7. The two-wheeler has already started reaching dealerships. As for the highlights, the scrambler bike will sport a retro-inspired design and shall get a semi-digital instrument console and full-LED lighting. It will run on a 411cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine sourced from the Himalayan ADV.
Why does this story matter?
The Scram 411 will go official as the road-biased variant of the Royal Enfield Himalayan adventure bike. The two-wheeler will share its mechanicals with the Himalayan but will get cosmetic updates to set itself apart. It is also likely to be suitable for mild off-roading. It will go against rivals like Yezdi Scrambler, Honda CB350RS, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250.
The motorcycle will have a stepped-up saddle and spoked wheels
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 will sport a sloping fuel tank, a round headlamp as well as mirrors, a stepped-up seat, a pillion grab rail, and an upswept exhaust. The bike will pack an all-LED setup for lighting and a semi-digital instrument console with support for Tripper navigation. It will ride on wire-spoked wheels shod in dual-purpose tires.
It will be powered by a 24hp, 411cc engine
The Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 will run on a 411cc, air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed gearbox. In the Himalayan, the mill makes a maximum power of 24.3hp at 6,500rpm and a peak torque of 32Nm at 4,500rpm.
There will be disc brakes on both the ends
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Royal Enfield Himalayan Scram 411 will be equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS to avoid skidding on the roads while braking. Suspension duties on the bike will be taken care of by telescopic forks on the front end and a mono-shock unit on the rear side.
