Renault Triber to launch in India on August 28
French automaker Renault is set to launch its all-new Triber in India on August 28. The subcompact SUV is based on the same platform as that of Renault KWID and looks like a stretched version of it. Meanwhile, the pre-bookings for Triber started from August 17 (today) at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Here's our roundup.
Renault Triber: At a glance
The Renault Triber looks like an elongated version of KWID. It features a chrome-finished front grille, body-colored ORVMs, and blacked-out roof rails as well as skid plates. For lighting, it houses sleek projector headlamps with DRLs, side indicators, and taillamps. Further, in order to reduce cost without losing the visual appeal, the crossover sits on steel wheels that look similar to alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the seven-seater Triber features a three-row cabin with dual-tone upholstery and a multifunctional power steering wheel. As for electronic features, the subcompact SUV sports an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with GPS support and connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The cabin also gets two airbags along with three-point seat belts on all rows, and rear parking sensors as standard.
Power and performance
The Renault Triber is powered by a 1.0-liter 999cc petrol engine which is capable of producing 71bhp of maximum power at 6,250rpm and 96Nm of peak torque at 3,500rpm. For transmission duties, the car gets a five-speed manual gearbox.
And, what about pricing?
In India, the Renault Triber is expected to fall under Rs. 5-8 lakh price bracket and will sit between KWID and Duster in terms of pricing. The pre-bookings for the subcompact SUV started from August 17 at a token amount of Rs. 11,000. Lastly, it will lock horns with rivals such as Datsun Go+ and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
