Renault KIGER launched in India at Rs. 5.45 lakh
French automaker Renault has launched its KIGER company SUV in India. It is up for grabs in four variants- RXE, RXL, RXT, and the range-topping RXZ. As for the highlights, the vehicle sports an eye-catching design and offers an upmarket cabin with a host of features. It is available with a choice of two petrol engines. Here's our roundup.
Renault KIGER: Design and features
Renault KIGER is based on the CMF-A+ platform co-developed by Renault and Nissan. It has a twin-slat grille, silver skid plates, a dual-tone bumper, split LED headlamps with DRLs, and C-shaped LED taillights. The vehicle is flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Dimensions-wise, it has a wheelbase of 2,500mm and ground clearance of 205mm.
Power and performance
In India, the Renault KIGER is offered with two BS6-compliant petrol engine choices: a 1.0-liter mill that generates 71hp/96Nm and a 1.0-liter turbocharged motor that makes 98hp/160Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed automatic, and a CVT gearbox.
A peek inside the cabin
The Renault KIGER has a spacious 5-seater cabin with auto climate control, an air purifier, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. It packs a digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To ensure the safety of the passengers, four airbags, ABS, and rear parking sensors are available.
