Renault KIGER to be launched in India on February 15
Renault has announced that it will launch its KIGER compact SUV in India on February 15 and the deliveries will commence from March. The company has already started manufacturing the car and dispatched units to 500 dealerships across the country. Renault KIGER: At a glance
Renault KIGER is based on the CMF-A+ platform co-developed by Renault and Nissan. It has a twin-slat grille, silver skid plates, a dual-tone bumper, split LED headlamps with DRLs, and C-shaped LED taillights. The car is flanked by roof rails, blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. Dimensions-wise, it has a ground clearance of 205mm and a wheelbase of 2,500mm.
Power and performance
In India, the Renault KIGER will be offered with two BS6-compliant petrol engine options: a 1.0-liter motor that generates 71hp/96Nm and a 1.0-liter turbocharged mill that churns out 98hp/160Nm. Transmission duties will be handled by a 5-speed manual, a 5-speed automatic, and a CVT gearbox.
A peek inside the cabin
The Renault KIGER has a spacious 5-seater cabin with an air purifier, auto climate control, a wireless smartphone charger, and a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel. It houses a digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Four airbags, ABS, and rear parking sensors are available to ensure the safety of the passengers.
