BS6-compliant Renault Duster spotted, India launch expected soon
In an attempt to meet the latest emission norms, French automaker Renault is gearing up to launch a BS6-compliant version of its crossover, the Duster. And now, a test mule of the upcoming car was spotted, revealing the same design we have seen on the recently launched Duster facelift. Meanwhile, the new model is expected to go official before April 2020. Here's our roundup.
Renault Duster: At a glance
Going by the spy shots, the upcoming model will come with a chrome-finished grille, sleek headlamps, body-colored ORVMs, silver-finished roof rails, and 16-inch alloy wheels - similar to the Renault Duster facelift. For lighting, it should get projector headlamps along with the LED DRLs, rounded fog lamps, and LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, we expect the upcoming Duster to sport a five-seater cabin featuring leatherette upholstery and a multifunctional steering wheel. As for electronic features, it should sport a 7-inch infotainment panel with support for connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Further, the new model is likely to offer dual-front airbags and a rear view camera along with parking sensors.
Power and performance
As for powertrain, the upcoming Renault Duster will only be available with a BS6-compliant petrol-powered engine. However, it is expected that the company will replace the existing 1.5-liter petrol mill with a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol unit that generates 130bhp of power and 240Nm of peak torque. The upcoming model is likely to offer a five-speed manual gearbox and an automatic CVT for transmission duties.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the Renault Duster facelift falls under Rs. 8-12.5 lakh price bracket in India. Hence, we expect the upcoming model to arrive at a similar price range.
