Tata Motors is gearing up to launch its Avinya electric SUV in India soon. It is likely to be priced at around ₹25 lakh (ex-showroom), as per Moneycontrol.
The five-seater car, developed by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited (TPEML), was first showcased in April 2022 and is the first model based on Tata's 'Gen 3 architecture.'

A potential rival to Tesla's Model 3
Tata Motors, India's top passenger EV maker, is said to be pitching the Avinya as a direct rival to Tesla's Model 3.
The Model 3, which is expected to be priced above ₹30 lakh in India, is the cheapest car from Elon Musk's company.
The move comes as Tesla gears up for its entry into the Indian market later this year.

The Tata Avinya comes with an emphasis on high structural safety, advanced waterproofing, and dust protection. These make it ideal for various terrains, particularly Indian ones.
The company also touts ultra-fast charging with its battery tech, promising a minimum range of 500km in less than 30 minutes.
It uses next-generation materials, efficient electronic components, and proprietary energy management strategies to maximize efficiency in the premium EV segment.

Tata Motors, which is separating its commercial vehicle (CV) and passenger vehicle (PV) businesses, is also planning to merge its EV business with the PV division after the demerger.
Since 2021, Tata Motors's CV, PV and EV, and Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) businesses have been functioning independently under their respective CEOs.
The firm sees huge synergies across petrol, diesel, and electric PVs and with JLR in autonomous vehicles, vehicle software, etc.
