Yamaha R15 V4 becomes costlier by Rs. 3,000 in India
Japanese automaker Yamaha has raised the prices of its R15 V4 motorbike in India. Following the latest price revision, the two-wheeler has become costlier by Rs. 3,000 and now starts at Rs. 1,70,800. As for the highlights, the bike has an aggressive design and gets several electronic riding aids. It is fueled by a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine. Here are more details.
Why does the story matter?
This is the first price increase for the Yamaha R15 V4 in India since its debut in September. The riding experience it offers is unmatched in its segment. Thus a price hike further cements its premium status. At its price point, the two-wheeler takes on rivals such as the Bajaj Pulsar F250 and KTM RC 200.
The bike has full-LED lighting and Bluetooth
The Yamaha R15 V4 has a muscular fuel tank, split-style seats, an upswept exhaust, a raised windscreen, golden-colored front forks, and arrowhead-shaped mirrors. The bike packs a full-LED lighting setup, a Bluetooth-enabled digital instrument console, and rides on alloy wheels. It is offered in Metallic Red, Racing Blue, Metallic Gray, and Dark Knight colors. A model with MotoGP graphics is available, too.
It runs on an 18hp, 155cc engine
Yamaha R15 V4 is powered by a 155cc, liquid-cooled engine with variable valve actuation (VVA) technology that makes 18.1hp of power and 14.2Nm of torque. The mill is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper and assist clutch.
There are disc brakes on both the wheels
In terms of safety equipment, the Yamaha R15 V4 is equipped with disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, along with dual-channel ABS, traction control, and two riding modes: Track and Street. Suspension duties on the bike are taken care of by 37mm inverted telescopic forks on the front side and a monocross unit on the rear end.

After the latest price hike in India, the Yamaha R15 V4 starts at Rs. 1,70,800 for the Metallic Red color option and goes up to Rs. 1,82,800 for the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
