Bajaj Auto has hiked the prices of its Chetak electric scooter in India. Following the price-revision, it has become costlier by up to Rs. 15,000 and now starts at Rs. 1.15 lakh. The scooter has a full-LED lighting setup
The Bajaj Chetak has a neo-retro look, featuring an indicator-mounted front apron, a flat-type seat with a pillion grab rail, an under-seat storage compartment, and a rounded headlight. The scooter packs a digital instrument console with smartphone connectivity, touch-sensitive switches, a key-less start-stop system, an all-LED setup for lighting, and rides on designer alloy wheels.
It runs for 95km on a single charge
The Bajaj Chetak packs an electric motor and a 3kWh Lithium-ion battery. The setup delivers a combined output of 5.3hp/16Nm. The battery can be fully charged in five hours and delivers a range of 95km on a single charge.
A combined braking system is available for better handling
To ensure the safety of the rider, the Bajaj Chetak is equipped with a disc/drum brake on the front wheel, and a drum brake on the rear wheel, along with a combined braking system for improved handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the electric scooter are taken care of by link-type forks on the front side and a mono-shock unit on the rear.

Following the latest price-revision, the Urbane model of the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter costs Rs. 1,15,000, while the Premium variant is priced at Rs. 1,20,000 (all prices, ex-showroom). This makes it almost Rs. 27,500 costlier than its key rival, the Ather 450X.
