Ahead of production, Pininfarina Battista e-hypercar hits the test track
Automobili Pininfarina's Battista electric hypercar is undergoing tests in order to refine elements like aerodynamics package, chassis settings, driving modes, and torque vectoring. The production will commence in the coming weeks and deliveries will begin later this year. To recall, the Battista was unveiled in 2019. It has an aggressive design and runs on a 1,900hp electric powertrain. Here's our roundup.
Pininfarina Battista: At a glance
The Pininfarina Battista has a sloping roofline, a large bonnet scoop, a front splitter, and sleek headlights connected with a single LED strip. It is flanked by protruding ORVMs and lightweight 21-inch "Impulso" wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires. A large active diffuser, wings, and a charging port with an integrated light bar grace the rear section.
Power and performance
The Pininfarina Battista packs four electric motors and a 120kWh Lithium battery. The setup delivers a combined output of 1,900hp/2,300Nm. As per the company, the car can sprint from 0-100km/h in 1.9 seconds, clock a top speed of 350km/h, and deliver a range of 450km/charge.
A peek inside the cabin
The Pininfarina Battista has a 2-seater driver-centric cabin, featuring a multifunctional flat-bottom steering wheel and premium upholstery. The materials and color can be personalized. The car houses three screens for instrumentation and infotainment. It also gets e-SIM-based connected car technology. All standard safety features, including multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and a rear-view camera should be present.
What about the pricing?
Deliveries of the Pininfarina Battista will start later this year and it should carry a starting price tag of around £1.7 million (approximately Rs. 16.97 crore). The company plans to produce only 150 units. The e-hypercar is unlikely to be introduced in India.
