Italian bike manufacturer Moto Guzzi celebrates its 100th anniversary
Italian bikemaker Moto Guzzi marked its 100th anniversary on March 15, 2021. Now, the company is commemorating this milestone by updating its entire line-up with new features like electronic rider aids, and by launching limited-edition models. The new bikes feature the Moto Guzzi emblem and spread-winged eagle logo as a callback to the military service of the company's founders Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi.
A look at the special edition bikes
Moto Guzzi has introduced limited-edition models of the V7, V9, and V85 TT bikes adorned in a special Centennial livery. They will be available throughout this year. These motorcycles sport a satin-finished fuel tank, a leather seat, and green fairings. They also feature a golden-finished '100 Year Moto Guzzi' logo placed on the front mudguard.
Dream to build motorcycles took shape during World War 1
For the unversed, Guzzi and Parodi had served in the Italian Royal Navy's Aviation wing in the World War 1. It was at that time that the two friends and pilot Giovanni Ravelli planned to manufacture motorcycles. In 1919, Ravelli was killed in an accident and was unable to achieve his dream. Guzzi and Parodi chose Eagle as a symbol to commemorate him.

Moto Guzzi bikes continue to be the preferred choice for long-distance travel. In 1928, Giuseppe Guzzi reached the Arctic Circle on his GT Norge and started a tradition of travelers setting off for distant lands on their motorcycles. In its 100 years of existence, Moto Guzzi has won 14 World Championship Titles on racing circuits around the world. Its bikes are used by Californian Police in the US, police forces in Berlin and other European cities, as well as the escort for the sovereign in Jordan. The company's two-wheelers are also used by Corazzieri, the elite corps that escort the Italian President.
