Peugeot 308 hatchback, with refreshed look and new features, revealed
French automaker Peugeot has revealed its third-generation Peugeot 308 hatchback. It will be up for grabs in Europe in the second half of this year. As for the highlights, the car has an aggressive look and an upmarket cabin with many features. It is offered with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. Here are more details.
The car is offered in seven color options
Peugeot 308 has a muscular bonnet, a blacked-out grille, sleek matrix LED headlights, a wide air dam and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs extending down the front bumper. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and 16/18-inch designer wheels. LED taillamps joined by a gloss black trim are available on the rear. The hatchback comes in seven colors including Black Perla Nera and Olivine Green.
The vehicle has a premium, tech-loaded cabin
Peugeot 308 has a spacious cabin with electrically adjustable seats, a 10-speaker Focal sound system, 8-color LED ambient lighting, multiple airbags, a wireless charging pad, a touch-sensitive key for HVAC, and a Clean Cabin facility that filters the air. It houses a 10.0-inch digital driver's display and a 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for the latest connectivity options.
It is offered with a choice of multiple engines
Peugeot 308 has a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine offered in two tunes: 110hp and 130hp. It is linked to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic gearbox. A 130hp, 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder diesel mill is also available. There are also two plug-in hybrid models with a 150hp and 180hp petrol unit (depending on the trim), a 12.4kWh battery pack, and an 81kW electric motor.
2021 Peugeot 308: Pricing and availability
The 2021 Peugeot 308 will go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2021. As for the pocket-pinch, in the UK, it should carry some premium over the outgoing model, which starts at £21,270 (approximately Rs. 21.5 lakh).
