What's the story
Ola Electric has teased its upcoming electric bike, the Roadster X, on social media. The official launch is slated for February 5.
The company had previously revealed a starting price of ₹74,999 for the 2.5kWh variant at its global premiere in August 2024.
However, the final pricing and other details will be confirmed at the launch event. Here's what to expect.

A look at the specifications
The Roadster X will come in three battery pack options - 2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, and 4.5kWh.
The company has estimated a base price of ₹74,999 for the 2.5kWh variant, ₹84,999 for the 3.5kWh model, and ₹99,999 for the top-tier 4.5kWh version.
However, these prices could vary at launch due to market conditions and other factors like competition from rival brands such as Hero Electric and Okinawa Scooters.
Specifications
Performance and design details
The Roadster X is expected to offer 11kW of peak power, which is equal to 14.75hp. It will likely boast a top speed of 124km/h and go from 0-40km/h in just 2.8 seconds.
Despite being the entry-level model in the Roadster series, it will sport a futuristic design with LED headlights, LED DRLs, 4.3-inch digital instrument cluster, front disk brake, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels.
It will also include RSU telescopic front suspension and dual-shock rear absorbers.
Market impact
Could it be a game-changer for Ola?
The Roadster X joins Ola's wider motorcycle portfolio, which also includes the mid-range Roadster and high-end Roadster Pro.
The launch dates for these models are still awaited.
The Roadster X's introduction could help Ola Electric reclaim its lost market share in India, which witnessed a steep decline by the end of 2024.
Last week, the company launched its Gen 3 electric scooters in India, offering improved safety and a range of up to 320km. The range starts at ₹79,999.
