Ola sold 25,000+ EVs in February, remains market leader
What's the story
Ola Electric has announced a major milestone in its sales performance for February 2025. The company sold more than 25,000 units during this period.
This achievement comes on the back of the strong S1 portfolio and a wide sales-and-service network of 4,000 stores across the country.
The company also revealed that it now holds over a 28% market share in India's electric two-wheeler (EV2W) segment.
Market leadership
Market dominance in EV2W segment
Ola Electric has managed to hold on to its leadership in the EV2W segment for the second month in a row. In January 2025, the company had a 25% market share.
An Ola Electric Mobility spokesperson said, "We have successfully maintained a strong sales momentum & leadership position through the month of February."
The rep also noted their varied scooter portfolio and wide store network as contributors to this success.
Rural growth
Expansion beyond urban areas
The spokesperson also highlighted a massive surge in demand from Tier 3 and Tier 4 towns, marking Ola Electric's successful penetration beyond urban areas.
The company hopes to further accelerate EV adoption across the two-wheeler segment in India with their Roadster X deliveries due next month.
This move further emphasizes Ola Electric's commitment to driving sustainable mobility solutions across the country.
Business strategy
Contract renegotiation and new launches
In February 2025, Ola Electric announced the renegotiation of contracts with vehicle registration agencies.
While the move temporarily impacted registration numbers on the VAHAN portal, it aims to reduce costs and streamline the registration process.
On January 31, the company launched its new S1 Gen 3 portfolio on its homegrown Gen 3 platform with prices starting at ₹79,999 for the base model.
New venture
Venturing into EV motorcycle segment
On February 5, Ola Electric announced its foray into the EV motorcycle segment with the Roadster X series.
The bike carries a starting price tag of ₹74,999 (ex-showroom).
The strategic move marks a major expansion of Ola Electric's product range and further solidifies its position in India's burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market.
