Okinawa Lite e-scooter launched in India at Rs. 60,000
Okinawa Scooters, a Gurugram-based EV start-up, has launched the all new Lite e-scooter in India at Rs. 59,990. The fully-electric scooter, which is positioned between existing Raise and Praise models, comes with a bunch of hi-tech features and promises a range of 50-60km on a single charge. Notably, the company is also offering a three-year warranty on the motor and battery.
First, here's a look at the e-scooter
Okinawa Lite features a sporty design with glossy finish, hexagonal shaped headlamp cluster with mounted DRLs, automatic electronic handle, and blacked-out alloy wheels. The scooter comes with a fully-digital instrument console, along with a start/stop button, hazard function, and an all-LED lighting setup. Moreover, it offers an under-seat storage of 17 liters and is available in white and blue color options.
Under the hood
The Okinawa Lite packs a waterproof BLDC motor that is capable of producing 250W of maximum power. This motor is powered by a 1.25kWh Lithium-ion battery which promises a range of 50-60km on a single charge and can be recharged in 4-5 hours. Further, the company claims a top speed of 25kmph.
What about safety and suspension setup?
In the braking department, Okinawa Lite comes equipped with disc brakes up front and drum brakes on the rear, along with E-ABS for improved road handling. The scooter also gets regenerative braking function wherein the battery gets charged whenever the brakes are applied. To handle suspension duties, it houses telescopic forks on the front and hydraulic dual shock absorbers on the rear.

As far as pocket pinch is concerned, the Okinawa Lite is priced at Rs. 59,990 in India. The e-scooter is positioned between Raise and Praise variants which are available at Rs. 39,990 and 69,790, respectively. At this price point, the Lite model goes up against rivals such as Hero Electric Dash and BattRE electric scooters.
