Norton unveils limited-edition Dominator Street bike: Details here
British automaker Norton Motorcycles has showcased a limited-edition Street model of its popular bike, the Dominator. The new variant comes with minor design tweaks and retains the mechanical specifications of the standard Dominator. Notably, the company will only produce 50 units of this model and each unit will be numbered from 1 to 50 to mark the uniqueness. Here's our roundup.
First, a look at the Norton Dominator Street
The Norton Dominator Street sports a retro-styled look with a naked design and sits on the same standard Dominator chassis. However, it gets upright handlebars as against the clip-on handles on standard variant. The chrome-finished handcrafted fuel tank as well as hand-made dual exhausts add to its retro styling. As for electronic features, it gets a digital-analog instrument console, bulbous headlamp, and LED taillamp.
Power and performance
The Norton Dominator Street draws power from the 961cc air-cooled engine which is capable of producing 80PS of maximum power at 6,500rpm and 90Nm of peak torque at 5,200rpm. For transmission duties, the motorcycle gets a five-speed manual gearbox.
And, what about the safety and suspension setup?
On the braking front, the Norton Dominator Street comes equipped with 320mm disc brakes up front, 245mm disc brakes on the rear, and dual-channel ABS for better road handling. To handle suspension duties, the motorcycle houses Ohlins' 43mm upside-down (USD) forks on the front and a monoshock suspension on the rear.
Finally, what is the pocket pinch?
The Norton Dominator Street is priced at GBP 21,950 (approximately Rs. 19 lakh). The company has announced only 50 units of this model and all of them will be sold in UK. Meanwhile, the deliveries of this variant will commence from next month.
