    What's the story

The Nissan Magnite, a compact SUV, has maintained its strong sales performance in the Indian market for the third consecutive year.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, Nissan sold over 30,000 units of this model.

The Japanese automaker announced that domestic sales of the Magnite surpassed 100,000 units in January this year.

However, this year's sales figure of 30,146 units marks a slight decrease from the previous ones.

    International sales

Magnite has been shipped to over 30 countries

Nissan's success with the Magnite extends beyond India. Since its launch in December 2020, over 30,000 units have been shipped to international markets.

The compact SUV has gained popularity in countries such as Indonesia, South Africa, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Uganda.

This global appeal underscores the model's versatility and wide market reach.

    Brand revival

Nissan Magnite: India's most affordable SUV

Currently, the Magnite is Nissan's only offering in India and has played a crucial role in reviving the brand's presence in the country.

The compact SUV, priced from ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom), shares the title of India's most affordable SUV with its sibling model, the Renault Kiger.

Buyers have two engine options to choose from: a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine with 72hp, and a turbocharged variant delivering 100hp.

    Challengers

    Rivals of the Nissan Magnite

Nissan is preparing for a mid-cycle update for the Magnite, that might be unveiled later this year.

A test mule of the four-wheeler was recently spotted on test runs, indicating an imminent launch.

The updated model is expected to feature visual upgrades, and new features, along with enhanced safety technology.

It will continue to compete with other competitively priced SUVs like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, and the soon-to-be-launched Mahindra XUV 3XO.
