Tata Punch to get five single-tone color options in India
Homegrown automaker Tata Motors will introduce the range-topping Creative trim of its Punch micro-SUV in five mono-tone shades in India. They include Orcus White, Daytona Gray, Meteor Bronze, Tropical Mist, and Atomic Orange. The paint schemes will be offered alongside the dual-tone color options. However, the design, features, and mechanicals of the car are expected to remain unchanged.
Why does this story matter?
Tata Punch is a good-looking vehicle with great performance and has received a good response from buyers. It is also one of India's safest cars thanks to a 5-star safety rating from GNCAP. The introduction of new color options should raise its appeal in the local market. Also, the Creative models with the new paint schemes should cost slightly less.
The car has 16-inch wheels and projector headlamps
The Tata Punch sports a muscular bonnet, a sleek black grille, projector headlights with DRLs, wrap-around LED taillamps and a wide air vent. On the sides, it is flanked by black B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, flared wheel arches, and 16-inch diamond-cut alloy rims. As for the dimensions, the car has a wheelbase of 2,445mm and a ground clearance of 187mm.
It is fueled by an 86hp, 1.2-liter engine
Tata Punch is powered by a BS6-compliant 1.2-liter, naturally-aspirated, petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 86hp and a peak torque of 113Nm. The mill is linked to a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.
The micro-SUV gets a rear-view camera and five seats
Tata Punch has a spacious 5-seater cabin with auto climate control, cruise control, key-less entry, parking sensors, a push start/stop button, and a multifunctional power steering wheel. The safety of the passengers is ensured by two airbags, ABS, EBD, and a rear-view camera. It also houses a semi-digital instrument cluster and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system enabled with support for iRA connect car technology.
Tata Punch: Pricing
The Tata Punch starts at Rs. 5.67 lakh for the base Pure model and goes up to Rs. 9.18 lakh for the top-spec Creative Kaziranga Edition AMT variant (all prices, ex-showroom). The prices of the single-tone shades will be disclosed at the time of launch.
