BMW teases next-generation X3 SUV ahead of official debut
German luxury car manufacturer BMW is gearing up for the launch of its upcoming X3 SUV, which is one of the top-selling models in the company's lineup. Internally known as G45, the new-generation vehicle is set to debut in a few weeks. Ahead of the launch, BMW has officially teased the SUV in camouflaged form. In 2023 alone, the BMW X3 outperformed the sales of BMW's iconic 3 Series sedan by selling an impressive 350,000 units.
Enhanced design and performance
The upcoming BMW X3 model will boast a more streamlined body design and improved fuel efficiency, achieved by reducing the drag co-efficiency from 0.29 to 0.27. The vehicle would also feature a wider track than its predecessor, the G01 generation. BMW claims that enhancements in vehicle rigidity and upgraded anti-roll bars will provide an improved driving experience.
Advanced safety features and interiors
The new generation X3 SUV will be equipped with an adaptive chassis offering electronically controlled shock absorbers for optimal passenger comfort. BMW is confident that these updates will contribute to the vehicle achieving high scores in the Euro NCAP crash test. The interior of the X3 will feature a simplified dashboard layout with traditional buttons for basic functions, complemented by a touchscreen infotainment system.
Plug-in hybrid and M Performance variants
BMW has teased the plug-in hybrid and M Performance versions of the new generation X3 in the teaser images. The plug-in hybrid variant is expected to feature a larger battery pack for increased range in pure electric mode. On the other hand, the high-performance model will showcase a quad exhaust system and is likely to adopt the M50 nomenclature as part of BMW's new naming strategy.
