MINI Cooper SE launched in India at Rs. 47 lakh
BMW-owned luxury brand MINI has launched its Cooper SE hatchback in India. It is up for grabs in a single, fully-loaded variant. As for the highlights, the car has an eye-catching design and a luxurious cabin with several tech-based features. It runs on an electric powertrain and promises a range of up to 270km on a single charge.
Why does this story matter?
The MINI Cooper SE is a hit in the Indian market. Bookings for its first batch (comprising 30 units) had started in October 2021 and all the models were reserved within a few days. The car has made its way to our shores as a completely built unit (CBU) and it is a decent addition to the luxury four-wheeler segment.
The car has oval headlights and 17-inch wheels
MINI Cooper SE has a bonnet with a vent, a large hexagonal grille, oval-shaped LED headlamps, and a black roof. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, yellow-accented ORVMs, and 17-inch alloy wheels. A roof-mounted antenna and LED taillights grace the rear section. The car is offered in British Racing Green IV Metallic, Moonwalk Gray, Midnight Black Metallic, and White Silver Metallic shades.
It has a top-speed of 150km/h
The MINI Cooper SE packs an electric motor linked to a 32.6kWh battery pack. The setup puts out a combined output of 181hp/270Nm and allows the vehicle to hit a top-speed of 150km/h, sprint from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds, and deliver a range of 270km.
The hatchback gets a panoramic sunroof and a 360-degree-view camera
The MINI Cooper SE has a luxurious cabin, featuring an electric parking brake, a panoramic sunroof, sports seats, a Nappa leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a Harman Kardon music system. It houses a 5.5-inch colored driver's display and an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with support for Apple CarPlay. The safety of the passengers is ensured by multiple airbags and a 360-degree-view camera.
MINI Cooper SE: Pricing and availability
In India, the MINI Cooper SE carries a price-tag of Rs. 47.2 lakh (ex-showroom). The first batch of the electric hatchback has been sold out here and deliveries will commence from March onward.
