Over 1,300 ZS EV cars sold in India in 2020
MG Motor's ZS EV has received an overwhelming market response in India. Since its launch in the country last year, the company has sold over 1,300 units of the battery-powered SUV. The company has also informed carandbike that they had received around 2,500 bookings for the car in 2020 but some of them got canceled due to the pandemic. Here's our roundup.
2021 MG ZS EV: At a glance
The latest generation of MG ZS EV has recently been launched in India. It features a sporty design with a chrome-accented grille, a sculpted bonnet, an integrated antenna, silvered skid plates, and a roof-mounted spoiler. For lighting, it houses projector headlamps, DRLs, and rear fog lights. On the sides, the four-wheeler is flanked by roof rails, indicator-mounted ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Power and performance
The MG ZS EV (2021) has a 3-phase permanent synchronous motor and a 44.5kWh battery. The combination is linked to an automatic gearbox and delivers 143hp/353Nm. The car has a range of around 419km/charge and can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.5 seconds.
A peek inside the cabin
The MG ZS EV has a 5-seater cabin with a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, leather seats, power windows, an adjustable steering wheel, and automatic climate control. It also packs six speakers and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment console with support for Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and i-SMART EV 2.0 connected car technology. The SUV also offers six airbags, 'Follow Me Home' headlamps, and a 360-degree-view camera.
How much does it cost?
In India, the MG ZS EV (2021) is offered in Excite and Exclusive trims. The former costs Rs. 20,99,800 while the latter carries a price-tag of Rs. 24,18,000 (all prices, ex-showroom).
