MG Motor India launches 'eHub' charging superapp for EV owners
JSW MG Motor India, in collaboration with leading charging infrastructure players, has introduced a new mobile app called 'eHub.' The app is designed to address the range anxiety often experienced by Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) owners. It allows users to plan their routes, based on the availability of charging points and charge their vehicles while on the move. The eHub app is available in 11 languages.
eHub: A comprehensive solution for EV charging
The eHub app serves as a comprehensive solution for electric vehicle charging, assisting users in locating, reserving, as well as paying for charging stations. It provides access to nearly the entire charging network of the country, through partnerships with leading providers like Adani Total Energies Limited (ATEL), BPCL, Chargezone, Jio-BP, Shell Statiq Zeon, Glida, HPCL, and others who are expected to join soon. Around 8,500 fast chargers have been onboarded on the app.
MG Motor extends partnership with Jio
In addition to launching the eHub app, MG Motor has also expanded its collaboration with Jio. The company plans to offer Jio Home Connectivity in all future cars, starting with the Windsor EV. This feature will be a standard inclusion in all upcoming MG cars through the MG-Jio Innovative Connectivity Platform (MG-Jio ICP).
A technology stack with industry-first features
The MG-Jio ICP is a technology stack that introduces several firsts in the industry. These include the MG App Store for in-car gaming, entertainment, and learning, better voice capability in six Indian languages, and a groundbreaking Home-to-Car functionality.
