MG Hector Plus SUV's India launch details are out
Hector-plus'>MG Hector Plus, the elongated version of the popular Hector compact SUV, is likely to be launched in India sometime in the second half of this year. The new car, which made its debut at the recently-concluded Auto Expo, will be offered in six and seven seat layout. Reportedly, the SUV will share its mechanical specifications with the standard Hector model. Here's our roundup.
MG Hector Plus: At a glance
The MG Hector Plus looks slightly bulkier when compared to the standard Hector. The car gets minor design tweaks including a new glossy black grille, restyled LED headlamps with DRLs, and square-ish wheel arches. Further, it runs on the same 17-inch wheels that we have seen on the standard model. It also houses faux skid plates on both ends and comes with LED taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the MG Hector Plus will offer a spacious and feature-loaded cabin that can accommodate up to seven people. The car will feature a panoramic sunroof, power-adjustable front seats, and a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with eSIM support and connected car technology. Moreover, it will offer up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, and a 360-degree Around View camera with parking sensors.
Power and performance
Under the hood, the upcoming MG Hector Plus will borrow its engines from the standard Hector model. The car will be available with a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine mated to a mild-hybrid system and a 2.0-liter diesel engine. The transmission duties on the car will be taken care of by a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.
And, how much will it cost?
The Hector Plus is likely to hit the showrooms sometime in the second half of this year. As for the pricing, it is likely to carry a premium of around Rs. 1 lakh over the standard Hector model that falls under Rs. 12.73-17.43 lakh bracket.
