MG Hector facelift, with six-seat layout, to be launched soon
MG Motor India is working to launch a facelifted version of its best-selling crossover, the Hector, in India soon. Now, a test mule of the upcoming car has been spotted in Vadodara, revealing a six-seat layout. Reportedly, the 2020 model will retain the mechanical specifications of the outgoing variant but it is likely to get an updated BS6-compliant engine. Here's more.
MG Hector facelift: At a glance
Going by the spy shots and reports, the facelifted Hector is expected to look slightly bigger than the outgoing model. It is likely to come with revamped front as well as rear bumpers, a restyled grille, a rear window wiper, and new taillamps. The car could also get new set of alloy wheels, dual exhausts, silver-colored skid plates, and an all-LED setup for lighting.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the 2020 Hector is likely to offer a six-seater cabin with captain seats for the second and third row. The spy shots also reveal that the car will get bigger headrest as compared to the existing variant. Besides that, the crossover would also get hi-tech features such as eSIM support, iSMART technology, and an infotainment unit with several pre-installed apps.
Power and performance
The facelifted Hector is likely to be offered with the same 1.5-liter petrol and 2.0-liter diesel engines. However, these mills will be upgraded to meet the upcoming emission norms. In the present state of tune, the former produces 140PS of power and 250Nm of torque, while the latter churns out 170PS and 350Nm. These units will come equipped with manual or automatic gearbox options.
Finally, what about pricing?
There is no official word on the pricing of the facelifted MG Hector as of now. However, according to the report, the car will come at a premium of Rs. 1 lakh over the outgoing model which falls under Rs. 12.48-17.28 lakh price bracket.
