Mercedes-Benz launches GLE 300d AMG Line at ₹98 lakh
Mercedes-Benz has expanded its product portfolio in India with the introduction of the GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line. This new model, priced at ₹97.85 lakh (ex-showroom), is a replacement for the previous entry-level diesel variant, the GLE 300d. The price tag reflects an increase of ₹1.2 lakh over its predecessor. The vehicle showcases several AMG-specific cosmetic enhancements and retains the same powertrain as its predecessor.
GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line: Aesthetic enhancements and performance
The GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line boasts several aesthetic upgrades, including 20-inch AMG alloy wheels finished in gray, larger perforated disc brakes at the front, an AMG front apron with a chrome trim strip, and an AMG rear apron with diffuser-look inserts in black. Other visual enhancements include a diamond grille featuring the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star insignia in chrome, sportier air inlets at the front, and side skirts painted to match the vehicle's color.
GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line is powered by 2.0-liter mill
The GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers an output of 269hp and peak torque of 550Nm. This engine is aided by a 48V mild-hybrid integrated starter-generator (ISG) that adds an extra boost of power, contributing an additional 20hp and torque of up to 200Nm. The powertrain is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox for smooth transitions and optimal performance.
GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line: Speed and competition
Mercedes-Benz claims that the new diesel GLE can accelerate from zero to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds, reaching a top speed of up to 230km/h. The GLE range is now priced between ₹97.85 lakh and ₹1.15 crore (ex-showroom). The GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line faces stiff competition from rivals such as the BMW X5, Audi Q7, Lexus RX, and the Volvo XC90.
