Mercedes unveils 2024 EQS EV with styling changes, enhanced range
Mercedes Benz has unveiled the updated version of its premier electric sedan, the EQS, for 2024. The German-made vehicle, recognized as one of the most luxurious electric cars worldwide, has received minor design modifications and an expanded battery. This enhanced battery capacity promises a longer driving range on a full charge. The revamped EQS is expected to be available in global markets soon, with reservations starting from April 25.
Enhanced battery capacity boosts EQS driving range
The 2024 Mercedes EQS features a significant upgrade in its battery pack, with capacity boosted by 10% from 108.4 kWh to 118 kWh. This increase extends the average driving range of the electric sedan. The EQS 450 4MATIC model now offers a driving range of up to 799km, an improvement from the previous 717km. The EQS 450+ model promises an even longer range, claiming up to 822km on a single charge.
Updated EQS features design modifications and enhanced comfort
The 2024 Mercedes EQS showcases design modifications including a deep black radiator cover with chrome accents. Inside, B-pillar ventilation nozzles now feature a galvanized chrome frame, and the rear insert cushion is adorned with nappa leather piping. The updated model also offers an optional Rear Comfort Package Plus with executive seats. The package includes features like seat heating, neck and shoulder heating in the rear, and pneumatic adjustment of the seat depth.
Special Edition EQS and standard MBUX Hyperscreen across variants
A special edition of the EQS sedan is available in exterior colors such as Obsidian Metallic, Opalite White, and Night Black Magno. The massive MBUX Hyperscreen, which includes three screens at the front, now comes as standard across all variants of the updated model. This feature-rich screen enhances the user experience by providing a seamless interface for navigation, entertainment, and vehicle settings.
