Mercedes-Benz launches India's most expensive MPV at Rs. 1.1 crore
Mercedes-Benz has introduced a new 'Elite' variant of its ultra-luxurious MPV, the V-Class, in India today. The range-topping model, priced at Rs. 1.1 crore, comes with a bunch of design and feature updates over the existing variants and packs a new BS6-compliant 2.0-liter diesel engine. The company has claimed that the MPV can do a 0-100kmph sprint in 11 seconds.
Here's a look at the V-Class Elite
The V-Class Elite features a premium design with an elongated wheelbase that gives it a longer profile. It also gets a revised two-slat grille with chrome finish, a revamped front bumper, and three new color options. Moreover, the MPV offers electronically adjustable ORVMs, 17-inch alloy wheels, and all-LED lighting setup for headlamps, DRLs, and taillamps.
Inside the cabin
The V-Class Elite features an ultra-luxurious and feature-loaded cabin which can accommodate six people. It sports power-adjustable ventilated seats with massage function, a refrigerated space, and electric sliding doors. The car also gets a fully-digital infotainment unit and a 15-speaker Burmester surround sound system with 640W audio output. Additionally, it offers features such as a panoramic sunroof, adjustable ambient lighting, and climate control.
Power and performance
The Mercedes-Benz V-Class Elite is powered by a BS6-compliant 2.0-liter diesel engine which is capable of producing 161bhp of maximum power and 380Nm of peak torque. The MPV houses a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic gearbox for transmission duties and can do 0-100kmph sprint in 11 seconds.
What about safety features?
On the safety front, the V-Class Elite comes equipped with disc brakes on all the wheels, along with ABS, EBD, and company's Pre-Safe package. The car offers six airbags, a 360-degree camera with active park assist technology, and an improved suspension system. Moreover, it gets driver-assist features such as blind spot monitor, hill assist, and attention assist.

As far as pricing is concerned, the V-Class Elite costs Rs. 1.1 crore and arrives as the most expensive variant in the Mercedes-Benz V-Class line-up. Lastly, the car will go up against Toyota's upcoming MPV, the Vellfire.
