Here's how the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA will look like
German automaker Mercedes-Benz is all set to unveil the second-generation GLA SUV today i.e. December 11. Before the official unveiling, the company posted a sketch of the upcoming model, giving us a fair idea of how it would look like. Notably, the car has also been spotted testing on roads multiple times. Here are more details.
A look at the Mercedes-Benz GLA
Going by the spy shots and design sketch, the Mercedes-Benz GLA will feature a crossover-like stance and will look similar to the Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The car will feature a blacked-out front grille with honeycomb patterns and the company's emblem, a rear-window wiper, and indicator-mounted ORVMs. Besides that, it will offer sporty-looking alloy wheels and blacked-out wheel arches as well as side claddings.
Inside the cabin
Not much is known about the interiors of the second-generation GLA yet. However, we assume the SUV to feature a luxurious five-seater cabin with best-in-class features. Reportedly, the fully-digital instrument cluster and the infotainment panel of the car will be merged to form a single unit. Furthermore, the SUV should offer all standard safety features including driver and passenger airbags and ABS with EBD.
Power and performance
The Mercedes-Benz GLA will be offered in three engine options: 1.3-liter petrol, 2.0-liter petrol, and a 2.0-liter diesel. The former two are capable of producing 163PS and 224PS of power, while the diesel unit is likely to come in two states of tune and should churn out 150PS or 190PS of maximum power.
Will it come to India?
There is no official word regarding the pricing and availability of the second-generation Mercedes-Benz GLA in India as of now. However, considering the current-generation model falls under Rs. 32.33-41.51 lakh price bracket, we expect the upcoming model to get a slightly higher price tag.
