Second phase bookings of Mercedes-Benz EQC now open in India
Mercedes-Benz has once again started accepting bookings for its EQC all-electric SUV, launched in India last October. A new batch of the car will be imported in the coming weeks. In the first phase, 50 EQCs were brought here as completely built units (CBUs) and all of them were sold off by the end of the year. Here's our roundup.
The car sports a large black grille and 20-inch wheels
The Mercedes-Benz EQC has an eye-catching design, featuring a sloping roofline, a muscular bonnet, a large blacked-out grille with the company's logo, futuristic-looking LED headlights with DRLs, and a wide air dam. It is flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 20-inch alloy wheels with blue inserts. A window wiper and sleek LED taillamps connected with a light bar are present on the rear.
The vehicle has a tech-loaded 5-seater cabin
The Mercedes-Benz EQC has a luxurious 5-seater cabin, featuring multi-zone climate control, ambient lighting, powered front seats with memory function, and a power steering wheel with cruise control. It houses a dual-screen setup for the digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment console. For ensuring the passengers' safety, seven airbags, traction control, hill-descent control, ABS with EBD, active brake assist, and hill hold are available.
It runs on a 400hp electric powertrain
Mercedes-Benz EQC has two electric motors and an 80kWh battery pack. The powertrain delivers a combined output of 400hp/760Nm and is linked to a single-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV has a driving range of over 450km on a single charge. It can sprint from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds and reach a top-speed of 180km/h.

In India, the Mercedes-Benz EQC carries a price-tag of Rs. 1.04 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The car's bookings are open and the second batch will be up for grabs here in the coming weeks.
