    What's the story

Mercedes-Benz is all prepared to announce the 2021 E-Class Long Wheel Base (LWB) model in India on March 16. It was unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last year.

The E-Class LWB is identical to the standard 2020 E-Class but offers more cabin space thanks to a longer wheelbase. In India, the sedan is expected to be offered with three engine choices.

    Exteriors

It has an all-LED lighting setup

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB borrows its design features from the standard E-Class. It has a sloping roofline, a muscular bonnet, a chrome-accented grille with the company's logo in the center, new headlights, and sleek taillights.

On the sides, the car is flanked by body-colored ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and 5-spoke alloy wheels.

Dimensions-wise, it has a 140mm longer wheelbase than the regular model.

    Information

The sedan will be offered with three engine options

In India, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB is likely to be available with three engine choices: a 197hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo-petrol mill; a 194hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, diesel motor; and a 3.0-liter straight-six, diesel unit that is likely to deliver over 280hp of power.

    Interiors

A large touchscreen infotainment panel dominates the dashboard

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB offers a 5-seater cabin with leather upholstery, electrically-adjustable seats, a dual-tone dashboard, ambient lighting, and automatic climate control.

It also packs a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment panel with MBUX support.

On the safety front, the sedan has multiple airbags, parking assist with PARKTRONIC function, active blind spot assist, and steering assist, among other features.

Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB: Pricing and availability

The upcoming E-Class LWB is expected to carry some premium over the standard E-Class that starts at Rs. 62.83 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium sedan will rival the BMW 5 Series, Audi A6, and Jaguar X5 in India.
