Mazda recalls around 77,600 MX-5 Miatas over airbag deployment issue
Japanese automaker Mazda has decided to recall 77,670 units of its MX-5 Miata sports car in the US. The reason behind the move is a software glitch, that might make the front airbags deploy too forcefully during an accident. This issue has been found in models made between 2016 and 2023.
Dealers to offer free software updates
Mazda has promised that dealers will offer a free software update for the airbag sensor control module. This step is to fix the problem in all affected vehicles. The company's proactive approach aims to keep its customers safe and maintain their trust in its products.
Fiat's 124 Spider faces similar recall
Mazda isn't the only one dealing with recall headaches. Fiat's 124 Spider model has also been caught in the same web, thanks to a similar issue. This suggests that the pesky software glitch messing with airbag deployments, might be a bigger problem in the car industry than we first realized.
