Maserati Grecale revealed ahead of debut: Check design and features
Italian automaker Maserati is gearing up to unveil its luxury SUV, the Grecale, on Tuesday (March 22). In the latest development, images of the car sans camouflage have surfaced online, courtesy of photographer Wilco Blok. Named after the fierce north-east wind of the Mediterranean sea, the Grecale was to make its debut last year. However, the shortage of key components pushed back the timeline.
Why does this story matter?
The Grecale is an important part of Maserati's revival plan for the coming years. It is marketed as a luxury SUV that will not make any compromises when it comes to performance and practicality. The Grecale will share its underpinnings with the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and will be built on the same production line as the Stelvio.
The SUV will sport a bold grille with vertical slats
The Maserati Grecale will feature a sculpted hood, a sloping roofline, a bold grille with multiple vertical slats, large air vents, and projector LED headlamps. It will be flanked by blacked-out B-pillars, ORVMs, and designer alloy wheels. The rear end of the car will get a window wiper, wrap-around LED taillights, a roof-mounted spoiler, a shark-fin antenna, four exhaust tips, and bumper-mounted reflectors.
It will come with multiple engine options
The Maserati Grecale is likely to come with multiple powertrain options, including a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine sourced from the Maserati MC20 and a 2.9-liter V6 motor from the Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio.
The car will have a steering wheel with paddle shifters
The Maserati Grecale will have a luxurious cabin with leather upholstery, a 3-spoke multifunctional steering wheel, paddle shifters, horizontally-positioned AC vents, and a center armrest. It will pack a digital instrument cluster and a large infotainment screen with a button layout positioned in between. For passengers' safety, the SUV will have multiple airbags, a rear-view camera, ABS, EBD, adaptive cruise control, and crash sensors.
Maserati Grecale: Price and availability
Maserati will disclose the pricing and availability details of the Grecale at the time of its launch on March 22. We can expect the luxury SUV to make its way to India after its international debut.
