    What's the story

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch a petrol model of its subcompact SUV, the Vitara Brezza, sometime around February 2020, according to Autocar.

The report suggests that the company might launch the all-new petrol-powered variant at the upcoming Auto Expo.

Presently, the Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3-liter diesel engine.

    Here's our roundup.

    Design

Maruti Vitara Brezza: At a glance

The Maruti Vitara Brezza sports a dual-tone paint job with a floating roof design, chrome-finished grille, electronically adjustable ORVMs, blacked-out roof rails, 16-inch wheels, and a chrome garnish on the tailgate.

For lighting, the subcompact SUV houses projector headlamps with LED DRLs, side indicators, and LED taillamps.

Moreover, it has a wheelbase of 1,400mm and a boot capacity of 328 liters.

    Interiors

    Inside the cabin

Inside, the five-seater Vitara Brezza sports a blacked-out cabin with chrome accents on the AC vents, seats wrapped in fabric, and a three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel.

The cabin sports a cockpit-style instrument cluster with mood lights and a SmartPlay infotainment system that offers connectivity features like Android Auto, Apple Carplay, and GPS support.

    Engine

    Under the hood

The diesel model of the Vitara Brezza is powered by a 1.3-liter engine which is capable of producing 88.5bhp of power and 200Nm of peak torque.

On the other hand, the upcoming 1.5-liter petrol engine, which is currently used in Ciaz and Ertiga, puts out 104bhp of maximum power and 138Nm of peak torque.

    Safety

Maruti Vitara Brezza: On the road

On the safety front, the Maruti Vitara Brezza comes equipped with disc brake on the front, drum brakes on the rear wheels along with ABS and EBD.

It comes with dual front airbags, engine immobilizer for anti-theft provision, and reverse parking sensors for parking assistance.

Moreover, the subcompact SUV has a seat belt reminder, high-speed warning alert, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

    Information

    Finally, what about pricing?

The diesel variant of the Vitara Brezza falls under Rs. 7.67-10.64 lakh price bracket in India. Hence, we expect the upcoming model to be priced in a similar range. However, official details will be revealed during the launch event itself.
