These automakers will increase car prices in India from April
What's the story
The Indian automotive market is poised for a significant price adjustment in April, as prominent car manufacturers implement price increases across their complete product portfolios.
Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Hyundai and others have confirmed price hikes as a direct response to rising input and operational expenditures.
Notably, Maruti Suzuki, India's leading passenger vehicle producer, will enact its third price hike of the year, following previous adjustments in January and February.
Impact
Maruti Suzuki cars to get costlier by up to 4%
Maruti Suzuki will implement a price hike of up to 4% across its portfolio. However, model-specific prices are yet to be revealed.
Tata Motors has also confirmed a price hike for its entire range of passenger and commercial vehicles, depending on the model and variant. The extent of the increase has not yet been announced.
Hyundai and Kia vehicles will become costlier by up to 3% starting in April due to "rising commodity prices" and "escalating supply chain-related costs."
