Maruti Suzuki Ciaz's color variants rejigged in India
Maruti Suzuki has changed the names of the paint schemes available for Ciaz model. The mid-sized sedan now comes in seven monotone color options, namely, Midnight Black, Pearl Arctic White, Prime Dignity Brown, Grandeur Grey, Celestial Blue, Splendid Silver, and Opulent Red. The first three names remain unchanged, but the latter four were earlier called Magma Grey, Nexa Blue, Premium Silver, and Sangria Red.
Why does this story matter?
Maruti Suzuki has not revealed why it has renamed the color variants of the Ciaz in India. However, it is now similar to the color schemes of the upcoming Baleno. No other changes have been made. The Ciaz is offered in Sigma, Delta, Zeta, and Alpha trims. It was launched in India in 2014 and had crossed the three lakh sales landmark last September.
The car has LED projector headlamps
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has a sloping roofline, a sculpted bonnet, LED headlights with DRLs, and a wide air dam. On the sides, it flaunts blacked-out B-pillars, indicator-mounted ORVMs, and 16-inch alloy wheels. The rear end of the vehicle is complemented by wrap-around LED taillights. Dimensions-wise, the car has a wheelbase of 2,650mm and a ground clearance of 170mm.
It runs on a 1.5-liter petrol engine
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz runs on a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol engine that puts out 102hp of power at 6,000rpm and a peak torque of 138Nm at 4,400rpm. The mill is linked to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The sedan gets a 7.0-inch infotainment system
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has a spacious 5-seater cabin, featuring auto climate control, parking sensors, key-less entry, and a power steering wheel with cruise control. It is fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The safety of the passengers is ensured by two airbags, ABS, EBD, an engine immobilizer, crash sensors, and a rear-view camera.

In India, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz starts at Rs. 8.87 lakh for the base Sigma model and goes up to Rs. 11.86 lakh for the top-tier Alpha AT trim (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).
