Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS becomes cheaper by Rs. 1 lakh
A few days back, we reported that Maruti Suzuki has announced price cuts on select models to boost sales. And now, the automaker has slashed the prices of performance-oriented Baleno RS by Rs. 1 lakh. Notably, the Indian government has reduced corporate tax on domestic companies, and Maruti Suzuki is passing on that benefit to their customers. Here are the details.
First, a look at the new prices
With the latest price revision, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will now cost Rs. 7.76 lakh (previous price: Rs. 8.76 lakh). The company has announced the price cut to pass on the corporate tax benefit which has now been reduced to 22% from 30% Notably, the hatchback goes up against rivals such as Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz, and Hyundai Elite i20.

To recall, the Baleno RS sports a compact look featuring a cascading grille housed in a chrome-finished frame, pentagon air-intakes, chrome-finished door handles, and indicator-mounted ORVMs. On the rear, the car comes with a curved hatch and gets chrome garnishing on the tailgate. Furthermore, it houses projector headlamps along with LED DRLs, foglamps, and taillights.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater Baleno RS sports a blacked-out cabin with fabric upholstery and chrome accents on dashboard, AC vents, as well as steering wheel. As for electronic features, it houses a 7-inch SmartPlay infotainment system with support for connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Further, the car offers dual-front airbags, a rearview camera and parking sensors as standard.
Power and performance
The Baleno RS is powered by a 998cc BoosterJet petrol engine which is capable of producing 100bhp of power and 150Nm of peak torque. For transmission duties, it gets a five-speed manual gearbox which sends power to front wheels. Moreover, the car has a top speed of 186kmph and promises a mileage of 21.1kmpl.
