Maruti Suzuki Baleno becomes best selling hatchback in February
Maruti Suzuki's Baleno has emerged as the best selling premium hatchback in India in the month of February. The company sold 20,070 units of the car last month to take the first place. The automaker also witnessed a 21% year-on-year growth in sales for the Baleno. Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz took the second and third spots by selling 9,001 and 6,832 units, respectively.
The Baleno has a wheelbase of 2,520mm
Maruti Suzuki Baleno features a sloping roofline, a blacked-out grille with 3D detailing, a wide air dam, a muscular bonnet, adjustable LED headlights, and a roof-mounted rear spoiler. On the sides, it is flanked by body-colored ORVMs, blacked-out B-pillars, and 16-inch wheels. Dimensions-wise, the car has a wheelbase of 2,520mm and a boot space of 339-liter.
It is offered with two petrol engine options
The Baleno is available with two petrol engine choices: a 1.2-liter VVT motor that makes 81.8hp of power and 113Nm of torque and a 1.2-liter Smart Hybrid unit that delivers 88.50hp/113Nm. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
There are dual airbags for safety
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno has a 5-seater cabin with fabric upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, key-less entry, and automatic climate control. The car also packs four speakers and a touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For safety, it has dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, central locking, rear parking sensors, and speed sensing auto door lock.

In India, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno starts at Rs. 5.90 lakh for the base-end Sigma model and goes up to Rs. 9.10 lakh for the top-tier Alpha CVT variant (both prices, ex-showroom).
