Mahindra XUV300 Sportz to be launched in India in April
Mahindra XUV300 Sportz, the performance-oriented compact SUV which made its India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, is likely to be launched in the country next month. The new car is based on the standard XUV300 model but comes with special graphics and produces more power. Here are more details.
A look at the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz
The XUV300 Sportz looks largely similar to the standard model but comes with a special graphics work and red-colored brake calipers. The car houses a chrome-finished grille, sleek LED headlamps, and silver-colored skid plates on both the ends. The SUV also gets roof rails, diamond-cut alloy wheels, blacked-out B-pillars, and all-LED fitments for lighting.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the five-seater XUV300 Sportz gets an all-black cabin with red-colored highlights around the dashboard and steering wheel, as well as red contrast stitching on the seats. The car gets a semi-digital instrument console and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for connectivity features. Apart from that, the SUV shares its safety features with the standard model.
Power and performance
The XUV300 Sportz draws power from a new BS6-compliant 1.2-liter T-GDI turbo-petrol engine that churns out 130PS of maximum power and 230Nm of peak torque, which is 20PS and 30Nm more than the outgoing model. The car will be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox at the time of launch, but the company may introduce an AMT model later.
And, what will be the pricing?
Mahindra will reveal the prices of the XUV300 Sportz at its launch event itself, which is likely to happen next month. However, reports suggest that the SUV would be priced around Rs. 12 lakh and compete against Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and MG Hector.
