Mahindra XUV 3XO's base variant spotted testing, launch soon
The base variant of the eagerly awaited Mahindra XUV300 (facelift), dubbed 'XUV 3XO,' has been spotted undergoing road tests in India. The new model is set to launch on April 29, and is tipped to offer both petrol and diesel engine options. Despite its simpler design compared to higher-end models, the XUV 3XO will embody the essence of the entire range, with features such as halogen headlamps and body-colored door handles.
XUV 3XO's design: A blend of old and new
The design of the XUV 3XO will be a mix of simplicity and modernity, featuring gray wheel caps reminiscent of the previous model, along with a black and beige interior finish. The base model will bear a striking resemblance to the pre-facelift version, particularly when viewed from the sides. Despite its pared-down design, it will showcase significant updates compared to its predecessor, the XUV300, which has remained largely unchanged for half a decade.
XUV 3XO's exterior and interior upgrades
The XUV 3XO will sport a new front grille, vertically mounted LED headlights with LED DRLs, connected LED taillamps, and fresh 16-inch alloy wheels. The interior will be revamped as well, featuring a new touchscreen infotainment panel and a digital instrument console. Despite its simplified design, the vehicle will maintain the spirit of the entire range with its modern features and upgrades.
Innovative features and engine options
The XUV 3XO will introduce industry-first features like Level-2 ADAS and a panoramic sunroof. Other notable additions include a 360-degree-view camera, Harman Kardon infotainment system, and dual-zone climate control. Under the hood, engine options are expected to remain consistent with a choice between a 1.2-liter GDi turbo-petrol, a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-liter diesel mill. However, changes in transmission options are anticipated.
Transmission and AdrenoX Connect technology
The manual version of the XUV 3XO will retain its smooth-shifting 6-speed gearbox. However, it's expected that the AMT gearbox will be replaced by a 6-speed torque converter unit. The vehicle will also incorporate AdrenoX Connect technology, enabling owners to remotely control the car's temperature using a smartphone app, a useful feature during the summer months.
