Mahindra Thar now available in new Deep Forest Green shade
Mahindra's popular off-road vehicle, the Thar, has expanded its color palette with the addition of a new exterior shade named Deep Forest green. This fresh hue is now available for both the AX (O) and LX trims of the vehicle. Previously, this paint was featured on other Mahindra SUVs such as the Scorpio N and the XUV 3XO. This update follows a series of color revisions made to the Thar since its 2020 launch.
Mahindra Thar is offered in total 6 colorways
With the introduction of Deep Forest green, Mahindra now offers six color options for the Thar. These include Red Rage, Deep Grey, Stealth Black, Everest White, and Desert Fury in addition to the new shade. The Desert Fury color is exclusively available with the special Earth Edition. Despite this aesthetic update, there have been no changes made to the vehicle's feature set or specifications.
Mahindra Thar is offered with three engine choices
The Thar continues to be equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen, manual AC, a 6-speaker sound system, cruise control, and a height-adjustable driver seat. Safety features include dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, an electronic stability programme (ESP), and rear parking sensors. The Thar is available with three engine choices: a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine, a 2.2-liter diesel engine, and a 1.5-liter diesel engine for the rear-wheel drive model.
Mahindra Thar's pricing and market competition
The Mahindra Thar is available in two broad variants - AX (O) and LX - with prices ranging between ₹11.35 lakh and ₹17.60 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). It faces competition from vehicles like the Force Gurkha and Maruti Suzuki Jimny. Additionally, it competes with similarly priced monocoque compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyryder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
